A crown, or a “cap,” is a glass ceramic that covers your entire tooth and helps strengthen and protect the underlying tooth structure. There are many reasons for a crown, including fractured cusps, large cracks and decay, attrition (grinding), and large failing restorations. Doctor Mickelson incorporates the latest technology and can use an intraoral scanner to take an image of your tooth for crown fabrication.
A bridge is crowns fitted on teeth adjacent to a missing tooth, they are connected by an artificial tooth called a “pontic,” which fills in the space. They are cemented on permanently and are not removable.
